Instead of Block of the Month, we would like to present a creative challenge to our membership. Row quilts are designed around a theme. We would like members, single or in teams, to design and sew a row for a quilt. When the quilts are assembled, we recommend that they be 48 inches wide and 54 inches long. Limit the tallest row to 12 1/2 inches. Bring finished rows to the meeting by July. We will assemble them. Volunteers will quilt and bind. Hopefully, we will sell them at Paarlberg.
Classic Blue and White 2026 Opportunity Quilt
Our 2026 Opportunity Quilt is finished. It is a classic blue and white design featuring intersecting stars. Kim will have tickets available. Every member is expected to participate in our major fund raiser.
Membership will be open for renewal. Cost remains at $30.00.
*We are going to need items for Paarlberg, please.
*Elections will be held this year for officers. If you are interested in running for office, let the nominating committee know. Elections will be held in July. Installation in August.
Friendship Star
Since 1982, when South Suburban College professor Mary Jane Carlson organized over 80 women at what would become the Heritage Quilters of South Suburbia, members have been dedicated to preserving and advancing the art of quilt making. Quilt making is an art that encourages individualism, creativity, knowledge and enthusiasm in sharing with others.
